Week 3 | Godly Fathers: Be Strong, Courageous, and Loving - Part 1
What does biblical fatherhood look like in today's world?
In a culture that often misunderstands masculinity, God's Word paints a very different picture. True strength isn't measured by power or success, but by steadfast faith, courageous obedience, and Christlike love. Whether you're a father, grandfather, mentor, or simply seeking to follow Jesus faithfully, this message offers timeless encouragement for every believer.
In this Father's Day message, Pastor Ryan Rice, Sr. unpacks Paul's final exhortation to the church in 1 Corinthians 16:13–14, showing how earthly fathers reflect the heart of our Heavenly Father when they walk closely with Christ.
This week's message highlights three marks of a godly father:
1️⃣ Be Alert and Stand Firm in the Faith
Godly fathers stay spiritually awake, guarding their hearts, standing firmly on God's truth, and faithfully leading their families toward Christ. They don't negotiate with sin but remain rooted in the gospel through every season of life.
2️⃣ Be Courageous and Be Strong
Biblical courage isn't bravado. It's faithful obedience in the face of fear. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, fathers are called to lead with conviction, endure hardship, and remain steadfast in following Jesus no matter the cost.
3️⃣ Do Everything in Love
Strength without love becomes harshness, but Christlike love transforms leadership, discipline, and sacrifice. Godly fathers model the compassion, patience, and tenderness of their Heavenly Father, pointing their families to the love of Christ.
The world needs more than strong men. It needs men whose strength is shaped by the gospel, whose courage is rooted in Christ, and whose lives are marked by love.
💬 Reflect & Respond:
How are you reflecting the character of your Heavenly Father in your home, your relationships, and your daily walk with Christ? Where is God calling you to stand firm, lead courageously, or love more deeply?
