What does biblical manhood really look like?

In a world that often confuses strength with power and courage with self-reliance, Scripture points us to Jesus as the perfect example of true manhood. As Paul exhorts believers to "be alert, stand firm in the faith, be courageous, be strong, and do everything in love," we discover that these qualities are not only for fathers, but for every follower of Christ.

In this message, Pastor Ryan Rice, Sr. continues our The Heart of the Father series by exploring how godly fathers, and all believers, are called to reflect the character of Christ.

This week's message highlights three marks of a godly father:

1️⃣ Be Courageous

Biblical courage is not the absence of fear. It is faithfully obeying God even when obedience is costly. Jesus demonstrated perfect courage by submitting to the Father's will, confronting sin, loving His enemies, and laying down His life for us.

2️⃣ Be Strong in Christ

True strength isn't measured by physical ability or worldly success. It is steadfast faithfulness, unwavering conviction, sacrificial love, and endurance through trials with our eyes fixed on Jesus. Christian courage is walking in obedience despite fear because Christ is our strength.

3️⃣ Do Everything in Love

Without love, strength becomes harshness and leadership becomes control. Biblical love is patient, kind, humble, forgiving, and rooted in truth. Godly fathers lead not merely with authority, but with the compassionate heart of Christ, who is both the Lion and the Lamb.

Jesus is the perfect model of courage, strength, and love. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, God is conforming His people into the image of His Son. The question is not simply whether we admire Jesus, but whether we are becoming more like Him every day.
