Week 2 | The Resurrection Encourages our Faith
Discouragement has a way of sneaking in—quietly draining our confidence in ourselves, in others, and sometimes even in God. But the resurrection of Jesus meets us right there, stepping into our fear, doubt, and uncertainty with living hope.
In today’s message, Pastor Ryan Rice, Sr. walks us through John 20:9–23, where we see the disciples hiding in fear after the crucifixion—only to be met by the risen Jesus who brings peace, restores joy, and sends them with purpose.
This week’s message reminds us:
The resurrection of Jesus meets our discouragement and strengthens our faith with peace, joy, and purpose.
Through this passage, we see three powerful ways the resurrection transforms our lives:
1️⃣ The Resurrection Gives Us Peace
Jesus steps into fear and speaks peace. Because He is alive, we no longer have to live controlled by fear—His finished work brings us into right relationship with God.
2️⃣ The Resurrection Gives Us a Reason to Rejoice
When the disciples saw Jesus, their sorrow turned to joy. The same is true for us—because He lives, our hope is secure, our sins are forgiven, and our future is certain.
3️⃣ The Resurrection Gives Us Purpose
Jesus doesn’t just comfort His followers—He sends them. We are called to live on mission, empowered by the Holy Spirit, declaring the message of forgiveness and hope to the world.
The resurrection is not just an event to believe—it is a reality that changes how we live. It speaks peace into fear, joy into sorrow, and purpose into uncertainty.
💬 Reflect & Respond:
Where do you need Jesus to speak peace into your life? What has God already given you reason to rejoice over? Who in your life needs to hear that forgiveness is available through Jesus?
