Week 2 | Advice for Both the Married and Unmarried

Can you live a full and joyful life whether you're married or single?

In a culture that often elevates marriage or idolizes romance, God's Word offers a refreshing perspective. In 1 Corinthians 7, the Apostle Paul reminds us that both marriage and singleness are gifts from God, each with a unique purpose in His Kingdom. Whether married or unmarried, our identity and fulfillment are ultimately found in Christ.

In this message, Pastor Ryan Rice, Sr. begins a new section of our study through 1 Corinthians by addressing God's design for marriage, sexuality, and singleness with biblical clarity, grace, and hope.

This week's message highlights two foundational truths:

1️⃣ God Designed Sex for Marriage

God created sexual intimacy as a good gift to be enjoyed exclusively within the covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. Marriage reflects Christ's love for His Church and provides the proper context for intimacy, mutual service, and joy. Rather than seeing God's design as restrictive, Scripture reveals it as protective and life-giving.

2️⃣ Singleness Is a Gift, Not a Deficiency

Paul elevates singleness as a meaningful calling, not a lesser life. Like Jesus and Paul, unmarried believers can live full, purposeful lives devoted to God's Kingdom. Our deepest satisfaction is not found in romance or sexuality, but in knowing and glorifying Christ. Whether God calls someone to marriage or singleness, His grace is sufficient for every season.

Marriage is good. Singleness is good. Both are gifts from God that point us to a greater reality: Jesus Christ is our greatest joy and ultimate fulfillment.
