Week 3 | The Savior Who Helps the Weak

Jan 18, 2026    Ryan Rice, Sr.

Weakness is part of the human experience. We face temptation, fatigue, fear, and failure—and left to ourselves, we are unable to save or sustain our own lives. Yet Scripture gives us hope: we have a Savior who does not stand far off from our weakness, but enters into it for our rescue.

In today’s message, Pastor Ryan Rice, Sr. walks us through Hebrews 4:14–16, reminding us that Jesus is our Great High Priest—greater than any priest of the Old Covenant—who has passed through the heavens and made a way for us to come boldly into God’s presence.

This passage reveals three life-giving truths:

1️⃣ Jesus, Our Great High Priest, Has Opened the Way to God

Unlike earthly priests who entered the Holy of Holies once a year, Jesus entered the heavenly sanctuary once and for all with His own blood, securing eternal redemption.

2️⃣ Jesus Understands Our Weakness

Fully God and fully man, Christ experienced real human suffering, temptation, and sorrow—yet without sin. He sympathizes with us not from a distance, but as One who has suffered as we do.

3️⃣ Because of Christ, We Draw Near with Confidence

The throne we approach is not one of judgment, but a throne of grace—where mercy removes the sentence of sin and grace supplies strength, help, and endurance for daily life.

Jesus is not only the Priest who offers the sacrifice—He is the sacrifice, and He is the mercy seat where atonement is made. Because of Him, God’s children are invited to come freely, boldly, and confidently to receive the help they need.

💬 Reflect & Respond:

Where do you feel weak or tempted to rely on your own strength? How does knowing Christ understands your weakness change the way you approach God?
