Week 1 | Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God

Dec 7, 2025    Ryan Rice, Sr.

Who is Jesus—truly? In a world full of opinions and confusion, John’s Gospel gives us a clear, breathtaking answer. Before creation existed, before light pierced the darkness, before anything was made… He already was. The eternal Word. God Himself.

In today’s message, Pastor Ryan Rice walks us through the majesty and mystery of the Son of God, revealing why the church has confessed for centuries:

“Very God of very God… begotten, not made.”

This week’s message uncovers a life-changing truth:

The eternal Word became flesh—God stepped into our world so we could know Him, behold Him, and be saved by Him.

In Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, we explore five foundational truths from John 1:

1️⃣ Jesus Was in the Beginning (vv. 1–2)

John anchors us in eternity past—Jesus didn’t begin in Bethlehem; He has no beginning. The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

2️⃣ Jesus Created All Things (v. 3)

Everything seen and unseen exists through Him. He is not a creation—He is the Creator.

3️⃣ Jesus Is the Giver of Life (v. 4)

Real life, true life, spiritual life flows from Him alone. His light still breaks into darkness, and darkness cannot overcome Him.

4️⃣ Jesus Dwelt Among Us (v. 14)

The eternal God put on flesh and lived among His people. He tabernacled with us, walked with us, suffered with us, and revealed the fullness of God’s grace and truth.

5️⃣ Jesus Reveals the Glory of God (v. 14)

John and the disciples saw His glory—a glory only God possesses. In Jesus, we behold God’s goodness, compassion, and truth on display.

Through John 1, we see that Jesus is not merely a teacher, prophet, or moral example—He is the eternal Son of God, the Light of the world, and the Savior who came to redeem us.

His invitation remains the same today: Come and see His glory.
