Week 4 | King of the Cosmos
Our world is fascinated with power—who has it, who controls it, and who knows how to leverage it. But Revelation pulls back the curtain on reality and shows us a far greater truth: true power belongs to Jesus Christ alone.
In today’s message, Joel Smith walks us through Revelation 1:12–18, where the risen Jesus is unveiled in glory—standing among His churches, reigning over creation, and holding authority over life and death.
This message centers on one unshakable truth:
Jesus is the King of the cosmos, and our worship belongs to Him.
From John’s vision, we see four clear reasons why Christ alone is worthy of our worship:
1️⃣ Because He Loves Us and Frees Us from Our Sins (Rev. 1:5)
Jesus proved His love not through domination, but through sacrifice—shedding His blood to redeem us and set us free from sin.
2️⃣ Because He Has Made Us Ambassadors of His Kingdom (Rev. 1:6)
Christ doesn’t just save us; He gives us dignity and purpose. He makes us a kingdom of priests, calling us to represent Him in the world as witnesses of His grace.
3️⃣ Because He Rules Over Death (Rev. 1:18)
Jesus was dead—but now He is alive forever and ever. He holds the keys to death and Hades, offering unshakable hope in the face of suffering and loss.
4️⃣ Because He Reigns as King Over All Creation (Rev. 1:13–16)
The Son of Man stands in glory—radiant, victorious, and sovereign. History, eternity, and the church itself are held securely in His hands.
Unlike earthly rulers whose power fades, Jesus reigns forever. He is not a figure to admire from a distance—He is the Lord who calls for our allegiance, obedience, and worship.
